Color doppler of kidney renal arteries

Color Doppler ultrasound of the renal arteries is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure that, with the help of ultrasound waves, allows the assessment of blood flow through the renal arteries. The review takes about 15 minutes.

INDICATIONS / WHY IS IT WORKING?

• To detect and demonstrate narrowing (stenosis), enlargement (aneurysm) and interruption of blood flow through the renal arteries (occlusion of the renal arteries).
• To detect blood clots in the kidney arteries (thrombi).

HOW DOES IT WORK?

• You will lie down during the examination.
• The physician places the probe on the part of the patient’s body that wants to be examined. A probe is a small plastic device that sends and receives ultrasonic waves. Ultrasound examination can be used to estimate the rate of blood flow through the blood vessels through the Doppler effect.

POTENTIAL RISKS

Ultrasound examination of the kidneys and urinary tract is a completely harmless, effective and painless method, which carries no risk.
