Psychiatric assessment in Tesla Medical consists of two parts and lasts for at least half an hour. In the first part, which is called general examination, the doctor will talk to you first of all. He will take your anamnesis, which means that you will be asked what kind of problems you are experiencing, when and how the problem appeared, how it developed, whether you have suffered from any illnesses before, whether you have had surgery, what your family and close relatives have been suffering from. It is not a bad idea to prepare and write down everything you can think of about these issues before coming to see a physiatrist.
The second part involves the assessment of the patient’s functional condition, the so-called status functionalis, when the doctor evaluates your posture, walking, spine and all joint mobility, tonus, trophic factors and muscle strength by MMT (manual muscle test), reflex activity, sensibility, peripheral circulation status. Also, your doctor will measure the circumference and length of your extremities (anthropometric measures), perform a test for measuring activities of daily living (ADL-Test) and, if necessary, perform additional diagnostic tests, such as:
Laboratory tests (blood and urine examination)
X-ray (RTG)
Scanner (CT Computed Tomography)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Electromioneurography (upper and lower extremity EMNG)
Soft tissue and joint ultrasound
Doppler of the blood vessels of the neck, upper and lower extremities
DEXA test for bone density assessment
