Kinesiotaping is a technique that is based on the therapeutic effect of special elastic strips that adhere to the skin and is applied in physical therapy and sports medicine. It is used in diseases and injuries of the bone-muscle system. This method is based on stimulating the natural, innate ability of the organism to regenerate the tissue and recover after injury, and provides greater stability of the muscles and joints, without limiting the range of movement.
WHY IT IS DONE / INDICATIONS
• For the purpose of correcting problems in the wrist, adjusting the irregular joint position, treating pain in the joint, normalizing muscle tone.
• In the treatment of sports injuries, painful conditions of the neck and lumbar part of the spine, muscle extensions, tendons inflammation.
• In order to eliminate delays in the circulation of body fluids and improve circulation of blood and lymphoma.
HOW IT IS PERFORMED?
The technique of gluing depends on the type of injury or disease, and the straps are placed in accordance with the anatomy of the muscle and the extent of the movement that is performed in that joint (in a certain part of the body). Straps are attached in order to relieve the muscles of a certain part of the body or in order to stimulate the function of the muscles. The Kinezio tape lets you perform all the movements in a particular wrist and there is no task to immobilize that part of the body.
HOW DOES THE KINESIOTAPING METHOD WORK?
• Reduces cramps and muscle tension, reduces muscle fatigue, and allows for a greater volume of movement.
• Reduces muscle and surrounding tissue (reduces inflammation, improves circulation of blood and lymphatic …).
• Reduces pain, normalizes muscle tone and tension in the wrist.
PREPARATION
No special preparation is required. The tape is attached to the skin, which must be clean and without hair (if possible). The kinesiotaping effect lasts 3-5 days after setting the tape. The tape is water resistant, so it can also be applied in water sports. It is set up in three ways, in the form of the letters “I”, the letters “Y” or “X”.
AFTER THE THERAPY
You can return to your usual daily activities.
